Megan Kizer

As an undergraduate, I attended Binghamton University and obtained my bachelors degree in biochemistry in 2015. At Binghamton I investigated nuclear pore proteins and their interactions to characterize the degradation mechanism of the nuclear pore during mitosis. I am currently a graduate student in the chemistry and chemical biology program at RPI, where I have had the opportunity to join both the Linhardt and X. Wang research groups. I am interested in utilizing DNA origami to optimize biological processes, including parts of the synthetic preparation of heparin. In my free time I enjoy cooking, playing latin-caribbean percussion, and spending time with my two cats.
